No Job for Me..This Time!

Classes are going, I am spending more time on the treadmill and bike to complete my reading, I fall asleep after 20 minutes reading at home LOL....
I did apply for a job that stated 10-15 hours a week. It was really going to be much much more than that, sometimes even going into over-time! It was a non-profit, not much pay, all the hours expected, but not in the job description. I decided to say, "thanks for interviewing me, but I am not the person you're looking for" and left it at that.
Whewwww....don't really want to work now, I am enjoying my classes and trying to psych myself up for a couple more semesters of the basic classes that I've been avoiding by taking interesting ones!
The last blog post took three days! So frustrating. A tech came out and "upgraded" our internet...whatever..yet another bill from them and it goes out 5x day --ughhhh frustrated. I am heading to the aquatic center (aka The Pool) to work out for a couple hours while savoring some calculus text reading..but we had a good weekend, 2 soccer games yesterday (forgot my memory card, again!) We had the bonfire on Friday night and a few people over for a spaghetti dinner followed by games.

Met Yet Another Adorable Blogger at Bunko!

AG sporting her new Cubs T-shirt...a week before she was at the Cubs game...now here in the rain :) I bet she goes for more than 10 days next year!
Mrs. Simms looking gorgeous as always
Juliet is a woman of mystery!
AG is just a goofball! I can't believe she's leaving AGAIN --if the rain/fog ever let up that is...
Jane being silly --next month is her month...whatcha ordering??
Alyssa who has started a blog for the CVB http://unalaskacvb.blogspot.com/ and of course my Manderzz and Lori too!

Most all of the bloggers I meet are wonderful...We were lucky enough to have Alyssa from the Unalaska CVB as a sub at Bunko Saturday evening...and poor little Manderzz who gets stuck playing when we are short a player and can't con anyone into dropping everything and coming to hang out with us for 3 hours :) As usual Manderzz won a prize --whatever it is that's my birthday gift she's informed me --works for me!

Thursday Night Madness

Angela..it was still warm and had not starting to rain at this point in the walk.

Cool rock.

Just kidding...it was not a crazy Thursday night....AG and family arrived safe and soundly...pretty much on time and with all of their bags....that's always nice to hear!

I slept after work, like most nights. But only for an hour then went for a long walk with my friend Angela who is here with her son Jake this summer. We talked a lot and got caught up. It was very nice. At home the family was having a Sorry! rematch, I even joined in for a mean game...lost of course. Hopefully this weekend will be more exciting!

Rainy Sunday Partying and Game Playing

I didn't hear who won, wonder where I wondered off to? Hmmm....
I can't get over it, my father-in-law is HERE!! Wow...it's so cool!
JR, Willy's daughters (forgot their names) and HZ. HZ (2008 grad) told everyone that going to UCSD her whole life was like getting a private school education in a public school! Wow! That says a lot for our little town. She went on to explain, the class sizes are small, the teachers are excellent, there is a lot of extra help, UCSD keeps up with the latest technology. Now if every student would be as mature and driven as HZ....
DH, RG, ML and JV....
Gigi is hiding in the back having a beverage...we had lots of lively conversation, a fun game which LC (in purple on the far right) totally won! I got only 10 of the 16 questions correct. She had 13 I think. We got to hear a lot about college from HZ and ES. Wow! 2 GREAT examples of kids who went to UCSD their entire lives and are succeeding in NYC and on Long Island! You two are awesome!! Thanks for sharing...and I'm so glad that UCSD prepared you for "the real world"!!
CG & ML laughing at something hilarious!

It started raining after brunch, which completely messed up the plans for fishing or hiking another beach that we had. Those 2 guys went to look at boats or something very exciting like that...mounted some rubber stamps that I have had on my to-do list, it was a DULL afternoon!

Gigi and Rich had a party --you have to visit her blog in the next day or two when she posts to find out the reason for celebration --http://janebye.blogspot.com/ Everyone brought food and it was all delicious, but the couscous salad, Kahlua cake, spinach dip and OMG the halibut tacos all deserve special mention, YUMMMMY!!!
When I got home most of the family was playing a cutthroat game of Sorry!
I can't believe the weekend is over already.....I'm not ready for 5 days in the office while everyone else is relaxing at home :(

Dangerous Heights, Snow Angels, Dinner, More Games, A Bonfire and Crab Pot Climbing Too!

Some ginormous crab pots appeared in our yard while we were on vacation.

JP being his usual cool self.
Dills, JP, Jr and ET. The older boys graced us with an hour of their time!
AU and JS...they're keepers, I don't' want them to leave!
Dills with a toasted green peep! THANKS MARGARITA!!!
Prepping their sticks to make "cave drawings" AKA scribbling in charcoal.
AS making a s'more.

Our crab pots?? They're a bit big even for our large-ish skiff!
MS's stick is a bit floppy (no trees here, slim pickings on the hill across the street!) I need to go to storage for the store-bought marshmallow sticks.
Manderzz having a s'more.
AG wearing some of our Unalaska clothing...she looks so cute!

MS won this round of Apples to Apples! Go MS!
They played ..something??? I read a magazine.
They were chatting about US and giggling!! WHATEVER!

Amaretto Sours, blended! The most delicious beverage in the world I think!
So cute!!!
Snow Angel in July!
Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.......
This ledge is really very freaky! The rest of us stayed back 15 feet!
We were SO busy today! A drive up Ballyhoo to look for whales and to watch some dumb guy walk out on a ledge that should not be walked on, a drive looking for horses, which we didn't find --so we played in a pile of snow we found on a hill. We met for dinner at the Grand on the deck, grabbed some food for a picnic dinner tomorrow night ...and a "Few" sale items too!
Then some Wii was played and some Apples to Apples until the teenagers who had trucks brought the pallets for the bonfire! It's after midnight and just about to be dark...LOVE this time of year!!!

Friends Are Great!

Alex, when we were trying to come up with a movie for all the kids to watch while we adults sneak off to the Friday night buffet @ the Grand. "I'm still here, and I don't want no musicals!!" he's so funny.
AG is losing weight! She's so dedicated, I'm dedicated to snoozing...sigh.
Apples to Apples one of the best games when there is a big group! CB won, whatever, I'm sure he cheated.
Manderzz totally won Life on WED night, even though CB stole from 3 of us. JS knew to be banker and sit far away from her bro!
Go Manderzz go...
We all watched THAT SHOW on TUE...it was so boring, and so was the one after it!
CB and Alena! wore my favorite color on TUE...I had a white hoodie. Sorry guys!

The weather is pretty rainy and the mood around town is somber....but we've been hanging out with CB, JS and AU in the evenings. Glad to for a 3 day weekend, I need it! I put in a whole 16 hours (I worked through lunch today!!)
