Lots of Glass After the Storms

Dills and PT cracking up!
5 teens and entirely too much technology!
Is that our very own cheerleader in a letterman's jacket??
My haul! Lots of very old pieces!! SWEEET!
AG found a crumbling boulder that just fascinated her.
A perfect light blue piece of sea glass...blue is rarely "done" We've concluded that cobalt blue never gets rounded and pitted, it always looks sharp --has anyone found a cobalt piece that is really sea glass?
opps the camera was set on black & white..

I'm wiped out...work has been busy and weird knowing that I only have one week left. I've got all the piles of "stuff" that I pulled out which I've been putting away when I can. My husband will be home today! For a whole day and a half...boat trip, the glamorous life of being married to a boat guy --they're gone, a lot. So glad I've just got a week left...so tired.
So...on Thursday night it was warm-ish and calm-ish. AG and I went to Glass Beach to see if the storms had stirred up and sea glass, we ran into CB, and all searched together.

We had 5 extra boys over last night for gaming....my job was to try to keep them all fed --3 of them are well over 6 feet and were starving -- I was sound asleep when they all arrived, Jr ran to the store and I fed them convenience food and homemade cookies -- I had dough in the freezer.

Calm and Mature BBQ @ AG's House --NOT!!!

Racing or was it tennis?? They did everything, bowling looked fun!
The intense game of Scene It! I think the females won? Who knows, the 10 year old BOYS were rolling the dice and we seemed to get 1s all the time while they got 6s hmmmmmmm..
AG singing some Miranda Lambert.
Mandy and the 5th Melly in Unalaska....I love it!

Jeff after he discovered his door!
Here's how to TP an apartment door, I love it!
I think it was Guitar Hero Country??
Mr AG relaxing

Playing Scene It with AG and her husband is hilarious! And then there was the TP-ing of the neighbor who didn't come to the party...they do live in an apartment building so it's a bit difficult to TP a door --they used duct tape!
We had BBQ'd silver salmon --yummmy a bunch of stuff to nibble on, a salad that I threw together, a lemon cloud pie that was LE's contribution and an ice cream cake. Lots of Rock Band...or was it Guitar Hero ?? Who knows. Scene It! for Kids and Adults and lots of laughing....a fun night, it's been awhile since we've done that...thanks for having us all over guys!

I Rocked Color Pin Bowling & the Kids JUST ROCK

Manderzz rocking "The Kill" ?? never heard of it. She's on the big screen, how freakin cute is that??
.There she is rockin out. OMG I love it!
Dills rocking some Ozzy song on the big screen or maybe it was Black Sabbath, sounded REALLY old! It's hilarious they know more old hard rock songs then I do.
Soo cute!
Hethykins got a strike!
Manderzz had to leave the house quickly to grab her brother, not as dressed up as usual :)

I had to put this picture on, Dills is happier than I've seen him in a picture in a long time!
Fun, fun, fun....and they didn't jump SUPER high...Jr is here now and it scares me a lot!!

Mandrzz entertaining herself at the orthodontist's office. They just moved into their new office and didn't have a plant in this corner shelf yet.
I didn't get a better picture, he inhaled his banana split sooo fast! It was his first EVER!
She got a brownie oreo sundae. I shared a few bites, I knew she wouldn't finish :)
Hethykin's cubicle!!!

I had yet another appointment for my thyroid scan, but we ran to Hethykins' cubicle before the appointment. We found a cute kitchen store to buy some spoons. I had spoon issues, I neeeded a couple ice tea spoons, soup spoons and Chinese-style spoons too, hooray three things off the big list.

My boss emailed that it appears to her that I'm now hypothyroid...geeez it sure changes quickly. BUT I see the endocrinologist in 2 hours for her opinion/diagnosis/prognosis. Finally a specialist!!

We ran to the mall for Manderzz she was flippin out for some shopping (fueled by CB's texts --did your mom take you to the mall? To fast food yet?) We didn't have a lot of time, but had 2 pairs of jeans to return and a $20 certificate for Old Navy to spend...3 of us looking at everything only spent $17...the selection was awful.

A visit to our family orthodontist was next...he moved, had a bit of a time finding the new office, but we survived. Dills is looking good...Manderzz will probabaly be needing braces within a year or 2. Not too bad.

Kids jumped and jumped even though it was drizzly and about 49 degrees. They needed to burn off their extra energy!!

After ordering pizza online, even paying for it --soooo easy. It was a local place too. Not even a chain. Very handy....we grabbed jr from the airport & went bowling. We didn't plan it, but it was color-pin bowling and then also Guitar Hero night. Both kids beat their songs on expert withjust a small fumble at the begining and a restart...they were so excited they were the 1st two to play!! I got 3 strikes on the color-pin bowling, 2 free games and a EVIL diet soda that we shared. Hethykins won a little frog for me :)

Professional Procrastinator's Friday Night Fun

Sonia trying to print something, we were waiting for her daughter to call after the March Madness event at PCR
What's up with Ozzy???
I lost Phase 10 really badly! I think my daughter won, or was it Alena!? or maybe Sonia??
Go Peach Go!!! (we got quite used to 12th place!)

Sonia and Alena! came over last night with a boy each, I wanted to see what the big deal is about Wii, so I let my middle guy bring his Wii and Guitar Hero World Tour into the living room, we had some dinner from Dutch Harbor Fast Food (why don't they deliver???) I played Wii with Alena, some Mario Racing game, ughhh makes me motion sick. And Mario and Sonic Olympics, we ran and did the trampoline too. I did fine when I figured out where the "A" button is. We had enough after that, I hear there are MANY more to try, so tonight I will try a few more. We played a couple games, had a martini and a couple mugs of Irish Coffee --It's St. Patrick's Week still......right?? I heard a rumor when running errands this morning that Alena! has quite a headache LOL silly girl had plans after she left us...I sorted some Unalaska rubber stamps to sell for the "Bring Martha MacGuyver back" fund! It's snowy, but a nice mellow day, soccer is over!!

Too Much Good Fun Lately!

We've been too busy lately, I never get anything done!! I went to Bunko and brought Sonia who just moved here two weeks ago...or maybe it's 3 now?? I think she liked it, it's a very complicated game --ummmm NOT! Except if I try to roll, talk AND keep score I always forget to keep score...opps!
The "boys" were playing Halo...again. We got back to our house and decided to play Scategories. We were laughing and having a GREAT time...before we knew it all the teens had quit playing Xbox and joined us ..I LOVE IT!
OK.. off and running the the next event...crap, I need a weekend to recover from this weekend.

If you look at the 1st pic Evan is totally cheating off my son...what would that accomplish? THEY BOTH LOST to the MOMS! Even the 2 geniuses LOST TO THE MOMS -HA!

5 More Days

I'm so excited! I won a free airline ticket from UAF last fall and keep changing my mind about where to go and when. I was going to see my friend in Kentucky, but then I'm not sure why I didn't go...the getting from Chicago (it's an Alaska Airlines ticket) to her house in Louisville is always a problem. Then I was going to go to Portland to see my sister and her family, that didn't work. I was traveling too much around the time I booked that trip for. I found out it's expiring soon. We have nowhere to go and several trips planned in the next couple of months.
I decided to offer to bring my friend "Martha McGuyver" (she can make or fix anything so that was her nickname)to visit. She and her family moved to Unalaska right about the same time we did. She has 4 boys, I have 2 boys who where about the same age as hers. (our daughter was just 6 months old) we became friends immediately. We started a Tiger Cub group the next month and did scouts for the entire time she was here.

I took my kids to Louisville once a few years ago, I just haven't made it back. We loved it! We went on a road trip and saw a lot! This picture was taken at the Biltmore Estate (OMG, LOVE that place!) I'm so excited for her to come back to Unalaska and see everything again! To have a break (she's now raising her boys by herself) She deserves a break!!
Poor thing has a very long journey ...over 2 days each way. 4 flights!! I like hanging out in airports, I get emails written, books read, naps, I enjoy quiet along time...I hope she does too!!
We'll do all the tourist things and try to have at least one get-together too!
I just booked this 3 days ago..I can't believe she leaves in 4 days and will be here in 5 days!!!!!

Today was busy! 2 soccer games, a bunch of groceries purchased when it's raining sideways. blowing about 50 knots --that was fun! I have bunko tonight and there is yet another Halo party here at home...when am I supposed to write papers and get my assignments done?!!!

Halo Friday....or Melly Madness???

This room was about 90 degrees! These guys are soooo relaxed they don't get worked up playing the 'old guys' they win without even getting worked up!
2 nice kids in the living room with the "old guys" It isn't as hot or as smelly out in this room, they're pretty smart I think!
13 year olds don't travel without laptops anymore.
We had some delicious beverages to sip while we sat for hours :) The 11 yr olds and the cute new 10 year old were staying out of the way after they ate some pizza and brownies.
Not sure which name I like better, but I am certainly leaning towards the second one for obvious reasons! The boat is gone and I'm going to do the Polar Bear Run (walking) with several other Unalaska bloggers and fellow Unalaska Biggest Winner participants, the weather is looking good (so far) the rocks in my back yard are even dry? I can see the ground AND it's dry...what a WEIRD Feburary!!!?? The pavement on the other side of the house is dry too....amazing...that never happens.

Catching Up

The birthday cake her beloved brother got up at 5:30am to bake, 3 layers of cake 1 of mint chocolate chip ice cream and one of cookie dough ice cream (all 5 of us LOVE cookie dough!) the frosting is real whipped cream, he ditched her for his chick, but he made a cake and gave her a itunes gift card, so the birthday girl "dealed 'wif it"
She looks so grown up with the new 'do
Love it when there is a pianist handy!
These one did leave his room long enough to score a bunch of goals in soccer....
It was icey outside there was way too much gaming this past weekend!
They knew as soon as I saw the lime and purple I'd be snapping pictures!!

I am finally caught up with my homework, after 2 weeks of really not having a chance to do anything, what a chore to catch up! I just need to stay caught up...is it mid-May yet???

Saturday was such a full day! I got my hair done, and so did the birthday girl, wow did we need that!!!! (she looks so grown-up now!)I skipped both soccer games (I hate to do that) My daughter and I did the Story Corp thing with the kind facilitators, we cracked them up! We're quite succinct and had a hard time filling 40 minutes! I don't like getting flowers, they're so expensive here and usually die within a day, Jennifer from the PO told my husband who was looking lost at Eagle to buy me chocolate-covered strawberries, I love Jennifer :) We all feasted on those. My eldest son was up hours early to bake a 5 layer cake for his sister and make a card for his g/f. I was too tired to document that! Darn-it, it was a nice card too!
The b-day girl wanted to play Halo and Boxing on xbox with her dad and the mate off the boat (??? funny girl) so that is what she did Saturday evening.
We had a nasty dinner of chicken nuggets and fries made of real potatoes YUK! We don't eat like that and she is a junk-food junkie. We had a piano-playing best friend over that night so we had music while we sang :)
She got lots of clothes, a 3rd ipod from a grandma (who NEEDS 3 we're still wondering, she has lots of excuses though) a digital camera, an itunes gift card from her biggest brother and $70. She was quite pleased even without a big party!
The teenagers went to the Grand for dinner on SAT night, we got stuck eating nuggets with the b-day girl. But we did make it to the buffet on Sunday. No pictures, she didn't want to look like tourists! (I need to grab that cute little camera for blogging if she's not going to use it!)

I signed up for the Biggest Winner contest on Sunday, I won't win, but if I can lose my chubby cheeks and wear size 2s again I will be thrilled.
I worked out and scrapbooked on Sunday too....
I'm so glad I had Monday off!!! I needed it.
