Harbor Seal for Lunch & Camp Q f/r Auction

Dills and his giant pile of harbor seal boiled with patrushki....he loves it. I tried a bite, the photo he took is not good. Cannot share it. LOL, maybe there was too much patrushki in my portion, it tasted like seaweed. YAY! Dills...he enjoys so much of the traditional food the locals prepare.
There was an auction, I had to have this unique beaded bracelet, it has a lot of lime green. I outbid AB...There were some awesome earrings too, I hope the artist-- JB will sell some to me!
Dills getting his certificate.
The famous, or is it infamous Jerah Chadwick was the auctioneer. He lived in Unalaska for many years was a college english professor for our branch of the Univ. of Alaska Fairbanks, was poet laureate for the State of Alaska a couple years ago, he's Pattycake's bentwoods hat helper and friend to many here --last year the Q-tribe made him an honarary member!
Manderzz recieving her certificate.

My last post about Camp-Q....really! It's just a very cool week, my kids love it, it's one of the coolest things we have here!

Dancing at Camp Qungaayux

Juno & DJ's class of Unangan dancers. Dills is in red and Manderzz is in the middle behind the boy with a white t-shirt.
LOVE the happy smile Juno!

Those pants are hard to miss!

Recognize CO from the back? His buddy AS is on vacation we haven't seen him much in the past week, he was the most enthusiastic student in the class, cute!!

Manderzz, with the cool new layered hair. I'm going to see if her and Juno will dance at one of our bonfires --yeah right! I'd have to bribe her with a big order of clothing from Delia's, Justice or Abercrombie Kids --she's gotten way too good at looking at clothing for me to buy for her!

Moses Dirks, my kids' favorite MALE teacher (Pattycakes is their favorite too!!) and DJ.

Dyl and the other drummers...Larz and one of Alena's nephews --Nicky? is in the group too.

So, Juno...I tease her a lot...it's my job as her boyfriend's mum, right?? But she and Pattykins' daughter DJ teach dance at culture camp and they do a nice job! Manderzz would've rather been weaving and Dyl prefers bentwood hat making. Manderzz hid in the second row and Dills brought the drum he made last year to avoid dancing, that works..too bad he had his hood on!

Saturday Night Dinner and a Play

Alena!, CB, Lauri and Gigi are all out of town...maybe Lauri is back? I haven't heard anything though....but the events keep happening in our busy little town. I cleaned most of the day Saturday after trying to get to the airport on time to say bye to CB and just missing him, ohh yeah 2 of my kids went to the dentist too...where are those pics?? hmm... other camera, another day... We went to a different restaurant than our usual places -- Dutch Harbor Fast Food for dinner before the Missoula Childern's Theatre production of Robinson Crusoe. The food is OK, they're Korean I think and I like their pizza the most, and the American food was better than the Chinese...WACKY.... I like Peking and no place else for Chinese food, I think they're Korean too??? Why is that I wonder?? Missoula Children's Theatre has been here for 10 years now and worked with the children for just a few days to produce a fun play. My kids are pretty quiet, not at all interested in being actors, soooo we go and enjoy it! I swear I've only known Sonia for 6 weeks and we're starting to look alike LOL...I was in a jeans and hoodie sort of mood after cleaning all day.

I feel worse today, got blood taken on FRI to see if we can figure out what's wrong with me :( I should just get over to ANC to a specialist. I look like crap!!

Who is that Hot Chick at the Museum??

Gotta have a shot of Sonia and Alena! on my post....I haven't seen enough of Sonia this week, the boat is in, she's been BUSY. I've been very very lazy.
People brought their kids, geezzz I didn't even think about it. Ahh they were all busy anyway, they do need some culture though hmmm...maybe we'll do something cultural this summer
Me & CB....where DID YOU GO??? Alena! went to the hotel, I went home...she never saw you??????????????
Hooray for Bailey...you look GREAT!

Last night the new guy that started at the Museum of the Aleutians held an "Antique Clinic" I know nothing about antiques, don't even own anything old, so it was all new info to me and quite interesting! I hope they keep having these sessions and more people bring their treasures to show off!
Bailey at the desk is all grown up now, I remember her playing Pokemon with one of my kids when she lived next door to us! She's been doing a GREAT job on losing weight with Alena!'s Unalaska's Biggest Winner Contest...I think she's doing great, keep up the good work Bai and don't make all that fried food for the birthday party, make good stuff!!
I've done nothing today except I did go to work for 2 hours....we have been doing things with new friends for the past 2 months,
but we're going to a birthday party at the home of some friends we've had for a decade tonight!! YAY!! I'm all rested up, I promise to stay awake and not curl in a corner of the couch and snooze!!
