Stormy Day, At Least Our Skin Healed a Bit.

The sea glass from the storm...no better than what we find at home!

The shells we found after the storm.
It was getting dark and I don't have a photo program on my mini laptop. The ocean was crazy, the waves huge, but it was hot like a bathtub.

Very deserted!

T and the only other guys (the 3rd guy is mia in this shot) that were stupid enough to go out in the water.

Trying to stay outside in the midst of a squall.

This is brave for my husband...he tried a margarita..hated it, but he tried one.

Today was a very mellow day, up late...we ate breakfast indoors as it rained early. I worked out for 45 min. We ran some errands -- got some 80 spf sunscreen lol we needed it! Laid out for a couple hours, Troy visited with our NYC friends in the pool, I slept. Evidently 45 minutes cardio and a 30 min trip to Wal-Mart is completely tiring!

It rained all afternoon, but we went to the beach and the pool anyway. The storm brought in lots of sea glass and shells!! T and 2 others were the only idiots in Cabo Bay right at sunset...they had a great time in the HUGE waves though....we didn't have enough appetite to go out to dinner, grabbed sandwiches and did a couple loads of laundry. The weather will be iffy for 2 more days then better for the rest of the trip! Dyl says he won all of his heats in swimming today, is doing great in wrestling and Manderzz had her 1st basketball game today. She was so excited (as excited as MSN messenger allows one to be) Jr had a bunch of guys over for a wild xbox party with a bonfire (I hear it was soooo warm there Friday??) and an egg toss in the street, I have to find out more about THAT...weird... we miss home, hate to miss anything...it does happen sometimes. Thank goodness for grandma!

I Thought I Had a Quiet Day Planned....

Dills is quite the host --found lots of food for the girls and made the fire too! Nice way to spend the last weekend night of summer vacation!
They ate s'mores before the regular food...I was on the phone didn't even notice until afterward.
All we got...we usually get several gallons of salmonberries every August.
I'm so curious...what is behind the ginornous (10ft?) locked doors??? Probably nothing lol.
I've never noticed this weird bunko/parking area with locked doors on one side at Little South America.
CB found the largest piece of sea glass ever, it's gray the only color I admitted to NOT having..and YES he's extremely smug about it.
Date night!
They're awesome singers....I should've recorded it...ohh that's just mean, I wouldn't do that!
Look it's Chef Jeff NOT making omelets!!
Ohhhh why can't we find gallons and gallons of these?? We love the smoothies and won't have any this year.
CB deep in the bushes on Ballyhoo.
A fishing vessel and the runway from Ballyhoo.

I thought it'd be a great day to get some projects completed around the house --ha! I dropped Dills off at swimming practice, picked him up, ran 5 errands, ate Chinese food for lunch, attempted to find a good amount of salmonberries (failed, it just isn't a good year for berries.) we ended up looking for sea glass for a little while instead.... then the boys had friends over until 11pm.
I've got to check in for my flight to Anchorage in 2 1/2 hours...haven't even showered or packed. It's just 2 days I'll make it simple. Not even bringing a computer --really not even my mini. A couple magazines and a big book will be just fine! I need a break I think.

GOSH!!!!!!

Hiking & More Hiking....

AG with her FIRST cobalt blue sea glass.... MS found it!!! We walked right over it!
AG and I also missed the cute sea star. I think Dills found it.
The kids were amazed --phone booths that still work! LOL My husband used to call me from these before we moved out here --funny.
This part of the road/trail is always sort of flooded. I was trying to picture a jeep and the soldiers...yeah I need to go look in the books we bought at the museum LOL...
I got some puppy love from Jet (on the left) and Max on the right was just bored with Jet kissing him and being all excited like puppies are!
We ran into HH and TV on the trail.
Looking down toward Unalaska.
It was so pretty, I REALLY don't want August to end!

So I guess this trail has no offical name, but this has always been our favorite walk. We lived right near the trail for 8 years....now we're a little farther away and start on the opposite side of the mountain/hill but it's still absolutely gorgeous! The WWII "stuff" is everywhere...even a "bridge" made of 60+ year old planks!
I have a bunch of walks that I'm taking before this month is over. We don't have a pass to the rec center so I have to get out! We'll just renew it after we return from vacation. Mid-October is wet and windy anyway!
Busy everyday for the next 6 days...fun fun fun....I sort of want to lay on the couch and watch Mad Men....why do I like that show?? Everyone else can't stand it, I find it fascinating!

Free Junior?

CB cracks me up!
Mine is the 1st bunch on the left, Jr's the middle with all the bottle tops and Manderzz' on the far right.
Manderzz' treasures she found pink & lavender and a good-sized colbalt blue!
Jr's pile, he finds so many bottle tops...I didn't see any!
He found a HUGE pink piece and some lavenders too!
My pile...beautiful! All the different shades of blue and aqua and turquoise, pink and lavender too.
The ferry we watched dock.

CB cracks me up...evidently CB's little sis really wants Jr's chocolate strawberries! CB is launching a full campaign to get us or just him home early! Jeff has threatened to break his own arm, and on CB's blog it says the entire staff is going to go on strike (yeah right!)
Cute, cute....have you met my mother? We can't tell her we're bailing out early!

Last night we watched a ferry dock and today we discovered a "new" beach that had more blue, turquoise, aqua, pink, violet and all shades of light green sea glass. We got all of these in just 45 minutes That is our new "thing" find some other beaches, we're tired of going to the same beach.

Tonight we're going to open our "surprise" boxes from Margarita! It's time to see what fun is in store!! She spoils us more than we deserve!!!.... After we see Star Trek again, I am drinking a big cup of coffee to make sure I stay awake.
